Accounting Information Night
The Accounting Department hosted the 21st annual Accounting Information Night on Wednesday, February 2, 2021 from 7:00-8:30 pm, virtually via Zoom. The event started with a panel discussion, co-moderated by Lewis Chew (CFO, Dolby) and Ryan Chew (Senior Financial Analyst, Intuitive Surgical);, featuring Carmen Holthaus (Partner, EY), Jie Pan (Head of Corporate/Intl Accounting, Atlassian), David Sage (Partner, Moss Adams), and Kelly Steckelberg (CFO, Zoom). Following the panel discussion, students and professionals participated in two breakout room sessions which provided the opportunity for small group discussions with accounting professionals. The evening concluded with an engaging summary by the panelists which was also attended by the majority of the students, despite the event running close to two hours in length.
As expected from previous years, Accounting Information Night was well attended by both students and professionals, with over 180 business students attending and 60 professionals joining to share their professional experience. Student feedback was positive, including comments about the panelists being “extremely genuine, relatable, and down to earth” while “providing super insightful comments and great advice” about recruiting and careers.
