What aspect of your fellowship has been most rewarding?
Before this fellowship, I thought civic engagement was limited to occasional volunteering, but my time with the Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP) and Alumni Support (ACS) at Cristo Rey San José completely redefined my perspective. Working directly with determined students juggling work, family, and academics as well as supporting alumni navigating their careers taught me that meaningful engagement happens at all stages of life, often behind the scenes. This experience showed me that utilizing my business skills in communication, organization, and data analysis to connect underrepresented populations with vital resources is just as impactful as direct service. Moving forward, I am committed to a life of responsible citizenship, using my professional background to support first-generation students and low-income communities, ensuring that critical opportunities and support systems remain accessible over time.
