What aspect of your fellowship has been most rewarding?
Through my time with the Diocese of San José, I’ve learned that civic engagement isn't just about direct service, it’s also about professional stewardship. Focusing on bookkeeping and creating Financial KPI metrics showed me that "behind the scenes" accounting work provides the vital structural support non profits need to stay sustainable. By ensuring resources are managed transparently, technical skills directly maximize the impact of outreach and social programs. Moving forward, I want to bridge my professional expertise with my personal values by offering high level financial analysis to non profits that lack the budget for it, while continuing to advocate for financial transparency in local government. This fellowship has shown me that being a responsible citizen means paying close attention to how resources are allocated, ensuring they actually reach and support the people who need them most.
