What aspect of your fellowship has been most rewarding?
Before beginning my fellowship with the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley (HFSV), I understood civic engagement in a fairly general way, like volunteering and showing up where support is needed. Working as a marketing intern completely reshaped that perspective, teaching me that marketing itself is a form of civic power serving as the vital bridge between community resources and the families who need them most. Seeing my coworkers model a culture of equity daily showed me that engagement is deeply personal, relational, and built through the workplace communities we create. Moving forward into my marketing career, I am committed to treating storytelling as a vehicle for social justice. Whether through pro bono work or amplifying marginalized voices, I plan to carry HFSV's culture of equity into every project I touch, ensuring that responsible citizenship is woven directly into where I choose to direct my time, skills, and attention.
