What aspect of your fellowship has been most rewarding?
Working inside a local elected official's office for the past six months completely transformed how I view a childhood memory of speaking at a school board meeting in the fourth grade. What felt like a simple memorized speech back then, I now recognize as active democratic participation. My fellowship showed me that civic engagement is vast, encompassing everything from public advocacy to the quiet, behind the scenes work of constituent services and policy research. Moving forward, I want to use my personal and professional platforms to dismantle barriers for marginalized groups. Personally, I plan to mentor first generation and low income students by guiding them through complex college and career networks. Professionally, I am committed to bringing an ethical, community centered lens into the business world, ensuring organizational decisions expand access, promote inclusion, and champion the needs of underrepresented communities.
