What aspect of your fellowship has been most rewarding?
Through my fellowship at Veggielution, I learned that civic engagement is heavily rooted in education, advocacy, and direct community care. During the special election last fall, I discovered the power of information by creating educational materials to help Santa Clara County residents understand the tangible impacts of local policy, specifically Measure A. Beyond advocacy, rolling up my sleeves during First Saturdays to greet community members and help with farm work showed me how vital hands-on volunteering is for strengthening local bonds. Moving forward, I want to bridge my economics major with my passion for social justice to address deep seated inequalities, particularly surrounding food justice and affordability. I am committed to a life of responsible citizenship, using my analytical background and personal time to volunteer for causes that need it most, ensuring that underserved populations have access to healthy resources, education, and equal opportunities.
