New Arts Management Minor
Announcing the Arts Management minor! Prepare for a career in arts-related organizations through courses in Art History, Marketing, Management, and English, along with an internship at a local arts or not-for-profit organization. Learn about a range of vocations, and build knowledge and skills for professional success, personal growth, and continued engagement with SCU’s Jesuit mission.
Why should you declare? Consider these three reasons:
- Take courses across four departments. Art History courses investigate global and contemporary art markets, repatriation, representation, preservation, and sustainability. Courses in Management explore theory, structure, practice, strategy and leadership. A course in Marketing focuses on messaging and communication through content and branding, and an English course builds professional and grant writing skills.
- Gain real-world experience through an internship at an arts or not-for-profit organization like the San Jose Museum of Art, Palo Alto Arts Center, de Saisset Museum…and more!
- Embark on a dynamic career path. Nationally, arts and culture generate more than $150 billion in economic activity and support 2.6 million jobs. Locally, arts organizations increase livability, and foster pride and understanding across diverse communities.
