Hailing from Southern California, Jordan Cohen received her PhD in History from the University of California, Riverside, with a dissertation that reviewed the intersection of slavery and medicine in the ancient Mediterranean world. She teaches culture courses on the ancient world, and looks forward to teaching language courses and introducing classes on ancient medicine. Her research interests remain in the history of Greek and Roman medicine, the history of slavery and other marginalized groups, as well as applications of comparative theory.
