Where are you from?
I was born in Cleveland, OH, grew up in Pleasanton, CA, and now live in San Jose, CA.

What drew you to SCU, and/or what is your favorite part about working here?
I’m an SCU alum (History ’23), and I loved my experience as a student, so I was excited to return as a staff member. My favorite part about working here is the people (students, staff, and faculty) and their commitment to cura personalis, or caring for the whole person.

What is one interesting / exciting project you've worked on since coming to SCU?
I’m just getting started in my role as Department Manager, but before joining the History and Classics department, I worked in New Student and Parent Programs, where I coordinated Orientation, Welcome Weekend, and Family Weekend. If you’ve attended any of these programs in the past year, you may have already crossed paths with me!

What are some of your hobbies and interests outside of work? Any hidden talents?
I recently staged a self-intervention to lower my screen time and have been getting into crosswords, Sudoku, coloring, and crochet. I also love reading, hiking, and going to the beach. When I can, I enjoy traveling — my best friend lives in London, and I have family in Switzerland. I also recently lost my dog, Jasper, who was my companion for nine years, so I’m learning how to fill my time in new ways.

What is your favorite book?
It’s hard to choose just one, but I love generational novels like Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng. Other honorable mentions include Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi, The Dutch House by Ann Patchett, and Pachinko by Min Jin Lee.
