An Update from Emma Bario

Emma Bario, class of 2023

Emma Bario, class of 2023

Emma is currently in graduate school

After graduating in 2023, Emma Bario, a Psychology and Women's and Gender Studies double major, started working in marketing at the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), a global nonprofit providing free HIV treatment and sexual wellness testing to all. Her degree serves her well in this role, as the work requires an awareness of the diversity of gender and sexuality among AHF's clients.

In September, Emma also began her master’s degree in marriage, couples, and family therapy at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is on track to graduate in 2027. Eventually, she hopes to own her own practice working with marginalized populations and supporting clients in embracing radical self-acceptance and self-love. Feminism will always play a role in her work.

In her personal life, Emma has been busy spending time with friends, creating art, and taking care of her two kittens, Batman and Maeve. While she misses her GNSX family, she is enjoying her life at home in Los Angeles and expects to visit SCU very soon.
