Center for the Arts and Humanities

Mission Statement

The Center for the Arts & Humanities at Santa Clara University fosters interdisciplinary collaboration in research, creative activity, and outreach. We build and support partnerships, projects, and programming on campus and with our local community. The CAH brings together faculty, students, staff, visiting artists and scholars, and community members to pursue meaningful expression and intellectual inquiry--the building blocks for a better future and a more just world.

The CAH believes in the transformative power of the arts and humanities to better understand, critically analyze, creatively imagine, and celebrate/promote appreciation for human experiences and the natural world – in the past, present, and future. It aims to build a diverse and inclusive community, both on & beyond the SCU campus, & to foster connections and collaborations among people engaged in the arts and humanities – as artists, scholars, students, activists &devotees (or as experts, practitioners, and devotees)
