Judges

The Senior Design Conference is a showcase and competition for our engineering seniors' projects. School of Engineering alumni and friends are invited to participate as judges, evaluating a number of senior design presentations.

Thank you for your interest in judging the Santa Clara University Senior Design Conference. Registration to judge this year's Conference will be open March 19 – April 13. Please note that the schedule is a work-in-progress and may have changes prior to the May 9 Senior Design Conference. You should receive a confirmation email of your judging acceptance around April 19.

Our seniors will present their projects between 21 sessions, in person, with judges and guests. Each session will also be live-streamed for a wider audience of viewers via the Senior Design viewing portal that will be available on our website. A maximum of 10 judges per session will be assigned, with priority going to those whose experience best aligns with the session. Once the cap has been reached, we will start a waitlist for each session.

To ensure a seamless experience for our students and the audience, strict requirements, outlined below, are necessary for this year’s judges. Those who are unable to meet the criteria for judging are encouraged to watch the presentations online or join us as guests, rather than registering as a judge. Whichever way you choose to participate, we will be delighted to have you with us!

To qualify for judging the Senior Design Conference, participants must:

• Attend senior design presentations in person/on campus on May 9, 2025
•  Bring a fully-charged laptop, tablet, or mobile phone (and connect to SCU Guest Wifi) to access and electronically evaluate projects or let us know to provide one (limited number available!)
• Register on campus (between 12- 1:15 p.m.) and attend the judge orientation session beginning 1:30 p.m., followed by assigned presentation evaluation from 2:15-5p
• Complete an evaluation of the overall session, an assessment of our program in preparing students for their engineering professions
• Agree that by registering to judge, you accept that your participation will be captured as part of a livestream presentation

Registration to judge this year's Conference is open March 19. Please register by April 13 in order to have your name appear in the program.

Note: SCU faculty advisors match judges with sessions, and their decision is final.
