S.F. Supervisor Mark Farrell Wanted to Fund Opening Schoolyards to Children on Weekends

John Pelissero, director, government ethics, quoted by San Francisco Chronicle.

To fund his pet cause, Farrell repeatedly turned to companies with business at City Hall

John Pelissero, director of government ethics called Farrell's payment history "troubling and problematic" and said that directing money to a nonprofit linked to one’s wife is questionable, even if she’s unpaid.

“To direct the behested payments to an organization that will benefit a family member and the work she does … there’s clearly a conflict of interest there,” Pelissero said.
