Major: Biology

 

Sydney Shead is honored to attend Santa Clara University as a Johnson Scholar. In high school, she achieved the AP Scholar with Honors award and was salutatorian in her graduating class.  Sydney was team captain on her JV and Varsity Volleyball teams, and was awarded overall MVP and defensive MVP. Sydney also participated in many different community service projects to fulfill her desire to serve others.  In addition to participating in the National Honors Society and the California Scholarship Federation, Sydney served as president of Operation Smile, a club dedicated to raising money for children with cleft palates. She also led her school’s Blood Drive two years in a row. Outside of school, Sydney served in her community’s Key Club as Editor, Vice President, and President. Sydney is so excited to attend Santa Clara University and further her passion for helping others and learning through the Jesuit philosophy. Sydney hopes to combine her heart for service with her desire to learn about different cultures to make an impact on the world.
