Lucas Seeley, a Bishop Blanchet High School Graduate, involved himself in his highschool community as a leader, activist, and dedicated student. At Santa Clara, Lucas is looking to explore both the medical and environmental world through his major in Biology. Additionally, Lucas hopes to dive deeper into the connection between sustainability and technology through a second major in computer science. On Campus, he plans to involve himself in as many research programs as possible to accomplish these goals. Before starting at SCU, Lucas was a diligent student throughout his high school career. Achieving 4 years of honor roll and graduating as the valedictorian of his class, Lucas demonstrated his commitment to and passion for academics. As a leader in his school community, Lucas worked as a peer tutor, student ambassador, KAIROS retreat leader, Green Team and German Club president, and St. Vincent de Paul board member. Devoting much of his extracurricular time to cross country and track, Lucas helped lead his team, as a cross country captain, to many great moments including a 2nd place state finish in 2019. Outside of Bishop Blanchet, Lucas worked as an K-8 cross country coach, involved himself with the NGO Pilgrim Africa, and Interned in a neuroanatomy Lab at the University of Washington. Lucas’ love of service began in 6th grade when he and his family lived in rural Soroti, Uganda. This experience not only set him up for a future of service, but gave him the concrete tools to pursue that life. Lucas is beyond excited to see all the new opportunities SCU has to offer and intends to make use of as many of them as possible.
