What was your college experience like as a first-generation college student?
As I reflect back, I learned a lot. It was hard adjusting to college in terms of the classes and expectations. Also adjusting to new family dynamics and being away from home. I had to get an on-campus job to help cover expenses along with my financial aid. I eventually found my groove and my passions which still drive me today.
What message do you have to share with current first-generation college students?
Don't let your dreams and aspirations be dictated by anyone other than yourself.
