The Housing & Conference Services Office offers a number of student positions, which are described below. These positions contribute to the overall function of our office and are vital to our success. We are looking to hire students for all three positions:
- Applications Available: February 7, 2025. Priority deadline for consideration is February 28, 2025.
- Interviews begin February 19, 2025 and will continue on a rolling basis until all positions have been filled.
The Business Services Specialist (BSS) position within the Offices of Housing & Residence Life (HRL) supports the staff within the offices as well as students, parents, faculty, and staff. This position provides opportunities for students to create a welcoming environment for all constituents that interact and engage with the office. BSS’s need to approach tasks as critical thinkers, creative problem solvers, and responsible leaders. Additionally, BSS’s are expected to maintain accurate records, complete computer data entry tasks, assist with room selection & assignments, organize filing systems, speak confidently & comfortably, and collaborate with other HRL staff.

The Conference Guest Services (CGS) role in the Housing & Conference Services Offi ce involves fostering a welcoming atmosphere and assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Conference Services Program. CGSs are expected to have excellent interpersonal skills and deliver outstanding, courteous, and informed customer service to ensure a pleasant experience for all guests.

The Conference Service Representative (CSR) position within the Housing & Conference Services Offi ce is dedicated to ensuring a welcoming and professional environment for all guests. CSRs support the operational functions of the Conference Services Program, enhancing the overall guest experience through quality assurance of all residential and meeting facilities, excellent customer service, and thorough knowledge of the university campus as well as its resources.

The Housing Operations Specialist provides support to the Office of Housing & Conference Services’ operations team by completing administrative and facility related tasks. Facility related tasks include completing housing building walks and inspections to identify maintenance issues, preparing halls for resident and conference guest move-ins, and electronic lock updates. Administrative tasks include inputting computer data, and auditing of various electronic key and programming systems. Additional responsibilities, such as inventory checks, assisting with furniture moves and reconfigurations, and general clerical duties will be assigned as needed. Coverage of service desks will be expected during high traffic times, such as welcome week.
