Hello Broncos! We hope that this newsletter finds you well. We have 21 active and competitive Club Sport teams at SCU that compete at the local, regional, and national level against other universities. Each month during the academic year, we ask them to report what they have been up to, and those that submit information will be sent out in this monthly e-mail. Not every Club Sport will report each month.
OPEN CLUB SPORTS
CLUB GOLF

The Santa Clara Club Golf team has had a tremendous start to our year. Engagement has grown significantly and we’re proud to have over 30 active members representing the Broncos. Our team has performed exceptionally well, finishing second behind Stanford in one tournament and winning our regional championship in another. This past weekend, Sunday, November 9, we faced off against UC Berkeley in a head-to-head competition, sending an impressive 23 golfers to compete. The team is stronger than ever, and we’re excited to build on our momentum in future tournaments. Go Broncos!
SHOTOKAN KARATE
Hey Broncos! The Shotokan Karate Club has been having fun and working hard! We recently held our Halloween social where we played board and card games, and we’re looking forward to more events this quarter. We are currently practicing kata (forms) and kumite (sparring) for our upcoming tournaments. As always, we are open to new members who are interested in karate no matter their experience level. If you’re curious about joining, reach out to jberry@scu.edu.

SWIM TEAM
Hi everyone! Club swim has been up to a lot this past month. We had our first intrasquad meet a few weeks ago, as well as having our first travel meet to UC Davis shortly after. We also just went to our Regionals meet in Mission Viejo, our biggest meet of the quarter against teams from all over the West. Multiple swimmers have achieved Nationals cuts, and many more are working to get there as well. We have been working hard as a team during practices, and are looking to finish out the rest of the quarter strong!

MEN'S ICE HOCKEY
Men’s Ice Hockey is off to our best start in program history with an undefeated (8-0) campaign so far.
Daniel Bateman ‘29 leads Division III of the West Coast Hockey Conference in scoring, tallying 10 goals and 16 assists for an impressive 26 points in just eight games. That places within the top 12 scorers nationally. The team heads down to San Diego next weekend for a series against USD to finish up play for the fall quarter. With four players returning from abroad studies in the winter, the team hopes to come back even stronger. Make sure to keep an eye on our Instagram (@scuhockey) and website for schedule and game updates. Go Broncos!

We scrimmage against Stanford on Saturday, November 15.
