Split Display

This image-driven content type allows you to apply a split-screen layout that delivers a preview of information and links to more. Present key messages alongside images or simply stylize multiple calls to action. A call to action, as its name implies, is designed to compel the user to take action. If you want to stylize calls to action (multiple links), but lack photography for each, the Call to Action content type is a good alternative.

Formatting and Accessibility

  • For the best results, images should all be the same dimension (same width and height).
  • Image height should be at least 345 pixels (480 pixels for Landing Pages) to avoid blurred images.
  • For people with specific cognitive impairments or low vision, having content shift from left to right like this can make it difficult for them to make up the text. Therefore, we recommend you use this content type only once per page (up to four images).
  • Be sure to include alternative text (alt text) for images; the Description field sets this in the T4 Media Library.
  • Don’t rely on images to provide additional text information. Text on images is not accessible.
  • The call to action should indicate the button’s action, describing the link’s destination.
  • A screen reader may only read the link text, not the surrounding text. Therefore, link text needs to make sense on its own. Avoid link text like “Click Here,” “Learn More,” and “Read More.”

Choose a color in the Background Color dropdown: White or Light Beige. Upload an image that will fill half the split display with its accompanying text. A minimum of two images, headings, and descriptions are required with optional link buttons to an internal section or content, or you can use the External Link field for an external link.
