Libraries

SCU’s libraries are much more than book repositories; they’re inspiring spaces for research, collaboration, and reflection. (We still have books, but most of them are delivered by a 100-foot-tall robot.)

University Library

The University Library at Santa Clara (aka the learning commons, which is easier to say than its full name: Harrington Learning Commons, Sobrato Technology Center, and Orradre Library) is an inspiring and groundbreaking place of research and learning.

Spanning 194,000 square feet on four levels, our library features energy-efficient lighting, light-filled public spaces, three open-air terraces, wireless networking, an art gallery, more than a million books, and over 200 new computers. It’s a great place to study, reflect, get work done, or just hang out.

Heafey Law Library

The Edwin A. Heafey Law Library is the primary reference library for the Santa Clara University School of Law. The law library occupies approximately 40,000 square feet of space and offers student conference rooms, computer labs, a wireless network, enhanced audio-visual capabilities, and seating for over 400 students. The collection totals approximately 400,000 volumes in hard copy, microform, and digital formats.
