As we celebrate Black History Month, we honor the amazing individuals who have pressed forward despite adversity to effect change in their communities. We honor icons of past and present, including Mel Lewis ’53 and Tanesha Cartwright ’18, M.F.T. ’23.

• Celebrating Black Authors: Assistant professor Kai Harris' highly anticipated debut novel, "What the Fireflies Knew," launched Tuesday! Harris will sit down with CiAuna Heard from SCU's Department of Women's and Gender Studies today at 6 p.m. PST to answer questions, talk about her writing, and share passages from the book. Join in person or via livestream »

• Hollywood Insights: Check in with Oscar-winning producer Blye Faust ’97 ahead of next month's Academy Awards ceremony. Faust joins SCU communications professor Michael Whalen ’89 for a Bronco Experts virtual fireside chat at 6 p.m. PST on Thursday, Feb. 17, to discuss filmmaking, the entertainment industry, and inspiration.
