Though Silicon Valley is now synonymous with tech, it was once alive with psychedelic rock, experimental jazz, and garage bands that helped shape the sound of the ’60s and ’70s. Discover how the South Bay’s music scene—including some rockin’ Santa Clara alumni—made major waves.

SCU’s LEAD program helps first-gen students find their footing—and their voice. Recently, six LEAD Scholars, including Denae Rivera ’25, traveled to Los Angeles for one of the nation’s top design conferences. They came back with industry insights, new skills, and the confidence to take their next big step.
