2024 Meet the Firms
We extend our thanks and appreciation to the firms that attended our 43rd annual Meet the Firms (MTF) on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 1:00-4:00pm in Locatelli Center, and to the officers of the SCU Accounting Association (SCUAA) who organized and managed the event.
This year's MTF was very well attended and included over 100 representatives from 30 firms and over 110 undergraduate business students. Several SCU alumni returned to campus with their firms to reconnect and share the many opportunities available to students. Undergraduate Business students interested in opportunities for accounting and A&IS majors, that have not yet accepted accounting internships or full-time positions, were invited to attend the event. To help students prepare for MTF, the SCUAA organized a Pre-MTF workshop the Wednesday before the event. Over 50 students attended this workshop where Accounting Association officers presented helpful information on attire, conduct, conversation topics, and resume content. In addition, Noel Kreidler (Assistant Director - Career Development Specialist, Business & Entrepreneurship, Career Center) presented essential information about resume writing, resources, and career center offerings available to students. A Q&A session followed with many students staying after the workshop to consult with officers and staff.
Over 140 students registered to attend the 2024 MTF, with 114 students completing a check-in survey upon arrival. This event served a record number of students.
Students overall enjoyed the number of firms that attended, and some students indicated receiving internship offers following the event. The passport program encouraged students to visit with firms of all sizes and many students interacted with more than 6 firms. Jacob Steenhansen (Accounting, Class of 2027) visited with more than 14 firms and was the proud raffle winner of the Apple Airpods.
A big thank you to the SCUAA officers for a job well done, and for being available to firm representatives at MTF: Jessica Pu-President, Mark Aquilio-Firm Relations, Brendan Arias-Treasurer, Maia Murphy/Ingrid Chou-Events and Junior Officers Cassidy Furutani, Morris Su, and Ashlyn Wang for assistance with setup and logistics.
