Cassidy Furutani (Senior Officer) - I grew up in Kāneohe, Hawai‘i, and graduated from Moanalua High School. I chose to attend SCU because of the multitude of opportunities that come with living in Silicon Valley. After being here for three years, I have also come to appreciate the small class sizes, which allow me to build meaningful relationships with my professors and peers. Before coming to SCU, I thought that I wanted to pursue a career in education. After taking an intro accounting class, I realized that this was the path for me. In the future, I hope to find a way to pursue both my passions for accounting and education. Outside of SCUAA, I will be serving as the au Director of Ka Mana‘o O Hawai‘i and the Accounting Tutor Coordinator. In summer 2024, I interned at KMH LLP, which is a local CPA firm in Hawai‘i. In summer 2025, I will be interning at Deloitte in the San Jose audit department. I look forward to learning from these exciting new experiences and meeting new people!

After visiting SCU’s campus I knew it was the place for me. Additionally, the business school’s reputation helped solidify my decision because I was confident it would be able to successfully give me the building blocks for my future. I chose to be an accounting major due to the guidance provided by my Accounting 11 instructor, Professor Stacey Ritter.
