Kevin Chiu teaches courses in principles of microeconomics, principles of macroeconomics, and international economics, development, and growth. He received his Ph.D. in economics from Florida State University and received an M.A in economics from San Jose State University. Prior to joining the faculty at Santa Clara University, he worked as a health economist in life-science consulting and litigation consulting.
Dr. Chiu's research focus is in health economics, specifically pharmacoeconomics, health policy, and competition in healthcare markets. He has publications in both economic and medical journals, including the Journal of Health Economics, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Future Oncology, and Medical Decision Making (Policy & Practice).
