Dr. Victoria Wenxin Xie is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business. Her work spans environmental, urban, trade, and development economics. Xie's current research agenda examines the local labor market and aggregate impact of environmental shocks and green industrial policies using empirical and quantitative spatial methods, with an interest in uncertainty and adaptation.

Her work has been published in the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, the Review of Economics and Statistics, and the Journal of Development Economics, and has been covered bymedia outlets including Politico ProForbesThe Guardian, and CalMattersShe has received research funding from the NBER Household Finance Small Grant program.

Dr. Xie holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, San Diego, an M.Phil. in Economics from the University of Oxford, and a B.B.A. in Global Business and Economics from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
