Thunyarat (Bam) Amornpetchkul is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Information Systems and Analytics (ISA) at the Leavey School of Business, Santa Clara University. Prior to joining SCU, Prof. Bam was an associate professor in Operations Management at the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) Business School in Bangkok, Thailand. She was also a visiting professor at the Operations Management Department of Carroll School of Management, Boston College, during the 2017-2018 academic year.

Prof. Bam received a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Operations and Management Science) from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, in 2014. Before this, she graduated with first-class honors from the University of Pennsylvania’s dual-degree program, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Economics (Summa Cum Laude) with a concentration in Actuarial Science from the Wharton School, and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Summa Cum Laude) with a major in Computer Science from the School of Engineering and Applied Science in 2008. 

Prof. Bam has extensive teaching, research, and consulting experiences. She has taught a diverse range of subjects at the undergraduate, MBA, and PhD levels, as well as in executive training programs. Her research publications appear in high-impact journals such as Production and Operations Management, Journal of Industrial Integration and Management, Economics of Innovation and New Technology, Journal of Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies, Research in International Business and Finance, and Journal of Revenue and Pricing Management. Prof. Bam has been involved in a number of consulting projects spanning cluster competitiveness, open government, logistics system, cloud data centers, and blockchain technology, funded by public and private grants totaling more than $1.2 million. 

Prof. Bam’s research and teaching interests encompass a wide array of topics, including Pricing and Revenue Management, Data Analytics, Forecasting Applications, Decision Making under Uncertainty, Startups and Innovations, Marketing and OM Interface, Finance and OM Interface, Supply Chain Management, and Healthcare Operations.
