Dr. Ying (Maggie) Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems and Analytics at Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business. Her research focuses on socially responsible operations, sustainable operations, and emerging market operations.
Dr. Zhang's current work centers on agricultural operations, studying the application of scientific farming methods and innovative agribusiness models to improve agricultural productivity, farmer welfare, and broader social welfare. Her research has appeared in Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, and the Journal of Operations Management, and received Honorable Mention for the 2021 Jack Meredith Best Paper Award from the Journal of Operations Management. She serves as an Associate Editor for the Decision Sciences Journal.
Dr. Zhang holds a Ph.D. in Operations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Kenan-Flagler Business School and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Tsinghua University.
