As a Professor of Practice in Marketing, Dr. Juan P. Montermoso draws on his extensive Silicon Valley experience to train tomorrow’s business professionals both on-campus and online in such areas as Marketing Strategies and Decisions, and Business-to-Business Marketing. At SCU, he shares his marketing expertise in Product Management and Customer Experience with the Executive Center at Silicon Valley.

Dr. Montermoso joined the faculty after twenty-seven years at Hewlett-Packard, where he grew international business sixfold in five years through commercial system, channel program, and e-business initiatives. Previously, he had fostered innovation as a Vice President in Information Technology for a Manila-based conglomerate and as an Executive Trainer for the SGV Group, an Accenture partner in Asia. As the President of Montermoso Associates, a high tech consultancy, and co-founder of Silicon Valley Alliances, a leadership development organization, he has assisted companies such as Cisco, Google, Visa, and Kaiser Permanente. His pro-bono strategic planning work resulted in Juan being named the Harvard Business School Community Partners Volunteer of the Year in 2012. 

Dr. Montermoso has been a faculty member with the MBA or Professional Development programs at Stanford University, the University of San Francisco, St. Mary’s College of California, and the Ateneo de Manila University. In addition, he taught e-courses at Universitas21 Global (a consortium of 21 universities), where he earned an Excellence in Online Education Award. Dr. Montermoso was recognized as a Homecoming Scientist by the Philippine government and is both an ASCM Certified Supply Chain Professional and a Stanford Certified Project Manager. 

Dr. Montermoso holds a B.S. in Engineering and Applied Science from Yale University, an M.S. in Applied Math and Computer Science from Harvard University, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School. In addition, Dr. Montermoso has published papers on management and marketing and has been a featured speaker at international conferences.
