Jo-Ellen Pozner : AT&T and Cohen : Business Insider
Jo-Ellen Pozner, assistant professor of management, was quoted in an article from Business Insider regarding AT&T’s investigation for its payments to Trump’s lawyer in 2017. According to AT&T, the payments were for Cohen acting as their “lobbyist” in order to obtain more information about the Trump administration during their attempt to merge with Time Warner. Jo-Ellen Pozner spoke about the issue by stating how there is an “ethical flag” in this matter as Cohen is not a “lobbyist”.
An excerpt from the piece:
Legally "this may be defensible but it's extremely dubious," she said. "If you're AT&T and need a lobbyist, you're not going to the white pages. They know all the industry players. Cohen is not a lobbyist and has no experience in telecom … So the only reason to find someone like that if you're AT&T is to do something that is not quite lobbying."
