Intuitive Surgical Field Trip
Intuitive Surgical is a robotics technology company that strives to “make surgery more effective, less invasive and easier on surgeons, patients and their families.” At this point in time, Intuitive Surgical is focusing on creating surgical equipment that allows surgeons and pulmonologists to more easily navigate the intricate systems that make up our lungs. With this in mind, their goal is to better understand and ultimately find a cure for lung cancer, one of the most common forms of cancer worldwide.
In April, the ACE Program was invited to visit Intuitive Surgical to learn more about the company and careers with the finance team.
ACE students were introduced to a number of professionals ranging from recent college graduates, including SCU alumni Prianka Singh and Brandon Lamm, to experienced directors at the company. Our students were able to learn about the company’s corporate culture and mission, the finance rotation program, and the summer internship program. Intuitive Surgical also gave students the opportunity to use their signature innovation, the da Vinci robot through a hands-on demo!
Thank you again to Prianka and Brandon for hosting us, and to everyone at Intuitive Surgical for giving us the opportunity to visit and learn more about how Intuitive Surgical makes a difference in the world today!
