Areas of Interest at SCU and LSB: I am a Finance Major.
What are your SCU and LSB activities/general hobbies: I am a Member of Igwebuike, work as a Desk Assistant in Graham Residence Hall (Alpha RLC), and am a part of the Black Business Association. I also enjoy playing intramural basketball and soccer with my friends.
Favorite LSB Class and Why? ACTG 11. I am a huge math and numbers guy, and ACTG 11 provided me with the coursework that challenged me to problem solve with numbers. The professor was great as well!
What made you choose to attend LSB? The resources available to us are unmatched. It is a well rounded curriculum, where I learn about all different aspects of business (accounting, finance, marketing, etc.) As well as the location. Being in the middle of the Silicon Valley provides outsiders like me the opportunity to work at amazing organizations like Apple, Google, and the list goes on.
What advice you wish you had while applying to college? Really take the time to research all the different things each institution offers. After all, college should be a place where you are excited to learn and grow on your own. Do that somewhere you know will help you succeed and accomplish all the goals you have for yourself. I would also advise looking into the many different communities on school campuses. SCU is great because there is a whole page dedicated to the different MCC clubs offered through the center for student involvement. You really do want your choice to feel like home. Lastly, I would advise to reach out to school ambassadors like myself. A lot of the time, we will provide a different perspective to questions you may have had answered by adults. We all once went through a similar experience, so we are more than happy to help guide you through your decision process!
