Areas of Interest at SCU and LSB: I’m interested in Marketing, MIS, and Entrepreneurship at the business school, as well as taking on leadership roles in business-related organizations and clubs on campus.
What are your SCU and LSB activities/general hobbies: I am the President of the Undergraduate Marketing Association and have been an active member for the past two years. In general, I love photography, baking, and drawing.
What internship/employment opportunities have you taken advantage of at LSB? I have been the Lead Marketing Intern at the University's Admission Office since my freshman year as well as a Marketing Intern for the Silicon Valley Executive Center. I have also been a Program Assistant for the Leavey Ambassador Program for the past year and have met many students through the business school who have offered me internship positions at their startups including a web3 company for Gen Z and an anonymous community app.
Favorite LSB Class and Why? My favorite LSB class continues to be Business 70 (Contemporary Business Ideas) because it exposed me to so many fields of business that I never considered exploring before. I was also able to build a close relationship with my professor who has since provided me with internship opportunities, advice on business ideas, and a support system on campus.
What made you choose to attend LSB? The two main reasons for why I chose LSB include the small class sizes and the ability to dive into business from day one. Being in an intimate classroom environment was very important to me as I knew it would allow me to be confident in asking questions and meeting new people. Moreover, I knew that having a small class size would let me build relationships with my professors that go beyond class. In comparison to other schools, I loved that Leavey allowed me to start learning about business from the start rather than waiting until my sophomore year to start learning. Also, with the quarter system, you get to take so many more business classes compared to students at other schools!
What advice you wish you had while applying to college? I wish I looked at schools more holistically when choosing where to apply to college. I focused a lot on the academic value a school would provide me with, but not enough on the social aspects which are just as valuable. I’m lucky to have ended up at a school that has a great balance of both, but I highly recommend looking at everything a school has to offer before spending the time to apply.
