What are you doing this summer? I was in charge of cultivating a digital strategy for Google’s largest clients, ensuring that they accomplish their marketing objective. My core role includes measuring the effectiveness of media investment, running prediction models, and conducting experiments.
Hopefully you’ve grown both professionally and personally from this summer experience. Name one or two “life” lessons you learned and will carry forward after graduation. I learned that curiosity will go a long way especially when you work with clients. It is easy to jump into assumptions towards how to solve an open ended question, but it’s helpful to take a step back and see all the ways you can critically approach an issue.
What has been the most memorable part of your experience? I loved getting to know everyone in my program, flying to LA to visit the Google office built in an aircraft carrier, and running an obstacle race with other Googlers working on Pixel!
What advice would you give to younger students who are searching for summer opportunities? The best career advice I’ve received is that your education is the baseline and what really sets you apart is what you pursue outside the classroom. Passion projects and real-world experiences show you’re capable of building and thinking ahead.
