What are you doing this summer? This summer I am interning at KPMG in their audit practice. As an intern, I get work on various engagement teams working through both their year-end audits as well as issuing their quarterly financial statements. I get to work with clients from various industries such as asset management, retail, e-commerce, and real estate.

 

What has been the most memorable part of your experience? The most memorable part of my internship this summer was getting to take part in enrichment opportunities that the firm offered to all of their interns. One opportunity was to complete a case study with a professor from UCLA on accounting policies and procedures, and another was competing in an "Intern Innovation Day" where we were placed in teams and were prompted to brainstorm a new, creative, and innovative point of view regarding the future of accounting, and present it to the firm! My day-to-day work was a huge learning opportunity for me, but these enrichment opportunities were what took me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to grow with my co-workers!
