Leavey Opportunities to Support Your Professional Development
The Leavey School of Business offers a career and internship preparation class called MGMT 50: Professional Development Skills. As a transfer student, you might find this class helpful as you transition into SCU. MGMT 50 emphasizes intentionality in career exploration and highlights strategies students can use to help strengthen their professional development and profile.
With the MGMT 50 seminar you will create and refine your:
- Internship search plan
- In-person and virtual networking skills
- Personal brand
- LinkedIn and Resumes
- Interviewing skills
There are five sections of MGMT 50 listed for Fall Quarter 2025:
Mondays at 2:15 - 4:15 pm taught by Professor Fiona Ji
Tuesdays at 5:00 - 7:00 pm taught by Todd Shulman
Wednesdays at 2:15 - 4:15 pm taught by Professor Fiona Ji
Wednesdays at 3:30 - 5:30 pm taught by Anisha Weber
Thursdays at 3:50 - 5:50 pm taught by Anisha Weber
MGMT 50 is restricted to sophomore standing students, however transfer students may also enroll in the course this Fall 2025. If you need help enrolling or have questions please contact ugbprograms@scu.edu.
Leavey Headshots
Several times each quarter the Undergraduate Business Programs Office provides opportunities for business majors to take free headshots to use for LinkedIn profiles or other professional needs. Be sure to check the Leavey Bulletin newsletter for sign-up announcements. Students getting their headshots should arrive wearing business casual attire. Photography takes place in Lucas Hall. Headshot appointments are less than 10 minutes and fill up quickly. Be on the look out for the sign-up dates.
