Dear College Faculty and Staff,
Today and tomorrow, SCU welcomes hundreds of families to campus for Family Weekend! We have a number of events planned for the families of our students including an AI‑focused panel featuring our own Susan Kennedy (Philosophy) with faculty from the School of Engineering and the School of Business. Additionally, we will have a couple faculty presentations, career exploration and internship sessions, tours and open houses, and of course, our Dean’s Reception and student showcase this evening at 4:30 in the SCDI East Lobby. If you’re on campus today or tomorrow, please welcome our families and show them how great it is to be a part of the Bronco family!
Meanwhile, here in the Dean’s Office, we have been busy on multiple other fronts. First, a shameless plug for Associate Dean and Professor of Art and Art History Kathy Aoki’s newest solo show, Koon’s Ruins: Discovery Zone, at the West Valley College Art Gallery. Running now through April 4, there will be a reception on Thursday, February 29, 5-7 p.m. at the Gallery. If you want to explore some tongue-in-cheek original art and support one of our own, consider attending! More information in the calendar section below.
Second, and after more than six months of planning and development, our new installation—Convergence: The Limitless Potential of a Multidisciplinary Education—is here! I’m sure some of you have already seen it on the first floor of SCDI near the cafe, but if you haven’t yet, I encourage you to check it out! As a reminder, we will be having our opening reception next Wednesday, February 28. I do hope you will join us as we celebrate this fun, new, interactive installation that celebrates the holistic foundation that we offer our students here at Santa Clara!
Convergence: A Celebration of What Makes Us Human Wednesday, February 28 4 - 5:30 p.m. SCDI East Lobby
