Michael Neumann is well-versed in a range of engineering disciplines with focuses on field robotics and multirobot systems.
He studied Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mathematics at Santa Clara University, where he later earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering focusing on formation control of mobile robots.  In 2008 he co-founded TETEA Inc., and has been CEO of the organization since 2015.  At TETEA he helped create and maintain the most popular educational resource website in Tanzania and developed an SMS service to help high school students study outside of the classroom.  Neumann also served as project engineer in Tanzania in 2009 and 2010 for a village-wide solar powered water distribution system and photovoltaic lighting system at a dispensary.  Over the years he has been a part of several successful NASA small satellite teams, including PharmaSat, O/OREOS, and, currently, ACS3 and was also an early engineer at the indoor agricultural startup OnePointOne Inc.
