A Bay Area native, Andrea's interest in experiencing different people and cultures led her to pursue a B.A. in Sociology with a concentration in Social Problems, Policy, and Justice and a minor in History from The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA. Throughout her time in college, she volunteered for organizations aimed at benefiting the wider community such as the Virginia Poverty Law Center, an organization that provides services for people facing eviction. Andrea showcased her data analytics skills by creating the first ever equity report for the York County School District under the supervision of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). In addition, she fostered a positive environment for students in her role as First Year Experience Chair for the Black Student Organization at W&M. After acquiring her degree, she returned home to reexamine her upbringing with a sociological eye. In her free time, Andrea enjoys gardening, cooking, and weightlifting. She is excited to be working at Santa Clara University and hopes to continue learning about how universities help facilitate student success.
