Maria Estela Zarate is Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership at California State University, Fullerton where she teaches future education leaders. Dr. Zarate is also coordinator of the Preliminary Administrative Services Credential program. Her research publications address the trajectory of immigrant students in U.S. schools, including the connections between schools and families. In 2017, she co-edited a volume on educational interventions for migrant students. More recently, she has examined dual language programs, including state policy, and organizational challenges in DL programs.
