Kristy Cross is a proud Bay Area native, born and raised in San Jose, attending Cambrian schools and graduating from Del Mar High School in Campbell Union High School District. She earned her B.A. in Spanish and her M.Ed. from the University of California, Santa Barbara. After teaching high school Spanish for 13 years, Kristy served as an instructional coach and later as a district-wide teacher evaluator for San Jose Unified School District.

Since 2017, Kristy has been teaching the MATTC program, where she is honored to serve as an Annual Year-long Lecturer. She is deeply committed to preparing transformative educators who bridge theory and practice to create equitable, engaging, and inclusive learning spaces.

Kristy’s work centers on helping develop teachers who not only lead with equity and belonging but who also enter the classroom confident, skilled, and ready to make a meaningful impact from day one. Her pedagogical philosophy emphasizes cultivating a deep sense of belonging in every classroom—where all students feel seen, valued, and empowered to thrive.
