The Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology provides an intensive 90-unit Master's program. Receive outstanding preparation to become licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) or a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). We offer four optional emphases; Correctional Psychology, Health Psychology, Latino Counseling, or LGBT Counseling.

The 45-unit MA in Counseling program is for students who wish to pursue work in which they will use counseling skills in a non-mental health setting but that still requires a Master’s degree. Examples of such work include career counseling, academic counseling in a college setting, behavioral health counseling in a medical setting, or pastoral counseling as a minister or lay person.

The 45-unit MA in Applied Psychology program is for students who wish to pursue a variety of human service fields. This degree program is designed to serve students who are seeking the academic preparation for work areas such as human resources, program development in community-based organizations, youth development work, or as preparation in applying for graduate level PhD work in any branch of psychology.

With full or part time enrollment options, the online program delivers the Santa Clara education in both a synchronous (content delivered in real time) and asynchronous (content can be viewed at any time) course schedule.

In addition to earning a Master of Arts in Teaching, MATTC private school pathway candidates also fulfill the coursework required to apply for a California state preliminary teaching credential. All private school pathway candidates must teach at a California WASC accredited private school in order to be eligible for the program

To help future educators meet the dynamic needs of emergent bilingual children and youth, we offer a Bilingual Authorization in Spanish.  Pre-Service teachers complete three synchronous and asynchronous-mixed courses and coaching/professional learning experience that is mostly asynchronous. All courses are taught in Spanish.
