OUR PATHWAY
In addition to earning a Master of Arts in Teaching, MATTC private school pathway candidates also fulfill the coursework required to apply for a California state preliminary teaching credential. Private school pathway candidates are eligible to pursue a preliminary multiple-subject credential for teaching in elementary (K-5) classrooms, or a preliminary single-subject credential for teaching mathematics, social studies, science, or English language arts in secondary (6-12) classrooms. All private school pathway candidates must teach at a California WASC accredited private school in order to be eligible for the program.
Private School Pathway MATTC candidates take the same 1- or 2-year course sequence with the exception that all practicum classes are 2 units.
For more information please contact our Interim Private School Pathway Coordinator, Dr. John Beltramo.
We have multiple scholarship opportunities. See Financial Aid page to learn more.
