OUR PROGRAM
Students who earn a Master of Arts in Teaching & Teaching Credential Single Subject degree are prepared for careers teaching a single subject to students at the middle or high school level. SCU prepares candidates to earn a California teaching credentials in the following subject areas: English, foundational-level mathematics, mathematics, biological sciences, chemistry, geosciences, physics, social science, and world languages (Spanish).
Individuals entering the single-subject program must demonstrate subject matter competence in their subject area. Students must provide evidence of subject matter competency in order to receive a student teaching placement or to be eligible for the intern pathway.
Units: 53 quarter units
Program Length: 1 year (full-time) or 2 years (part-time)
