- Laudato Si’ across the Curriculum
This professional development program trains SCU faculty and their teaching assistants to design curricular projects involving community-engaged research for environmental justice. The program supports curricular design to help students understand, reflect, and act on the twin crises of social and environmental justice identified by Pope Francis in his encyclical Laudato Si’. We plan to extend this program to other Jesuit higher educational institutions.

- Student Internships and Fellowships
We are developing a program of internships and fellowships for students to conduct research with community partners and SCU faculty mentoring during the academic year and summer.
- Sustainable SCU: Leading Through Laudato Si'
The Initiative is supporting SCU’s strategic planning process to develop a Sustainability Action Plan through 2030, led by the university’s Center for Sustainability and the Division of Mission and Ministry. Rooted in Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’, the process convenes stakeholders from across campus to deepen our integration of SCU's mission and connect our efforts with over 130 other Laudato Si’ universities worldwide.
