Makoto Suzuki has received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Physics from Kyoto University in Japan in 2000 and 2002, respectively. His study there includes the experimental works on the low temperature electron and phonon transport in superconductors. He joined Hitachi High-Technologies Corp. in 2002 and engaged in the development of electron beam optics for scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for semiconductor device inspection. He was taking part in the Center for Nanostructures at Santa Clara University as a Visiting Researcher since 2006, studying SEM imaging techniques and image formation mechanisms for carbon nanofiber devices.
