Chris Kitts (mechanical engineering) has been named a Fellow in ASME for his significant contributions to the robotics and mechatronics fields. Dr. Kitts directs a world-class field robotics program developing advanced robotic systems for land, sea, air and space missions, and he has served as the mission operations director for several NASA small spacecraft. |

Taylor Alexander '07 (mechanical engineering) recently shared his 2013 Kickstarter experience to raise funding to launch his company, Flutter Wireless, at the School of Engineering's Lunch with an Entrepreneur. Check out his product here. |

Matthew Condino '17 (mechanical engineering) is one of only five undergraduate students statewide to receive a CA Space Grant Undergraduate Research Grant Opportunity Award. Matthew is working with Dr. Chris Kitts in the Robotic Systems Laboratory to develop diagnostic radio software for help in controlling a series of NASA satellites. |

Jason Dougherty, Nick Fong, and Alek Hurst, computer engineering seniors, won 1st Place and $15,000 in the Intel Security IoT Hackathon 2015 for their product, Pawpal. The team created hardware and a mobile app to monitor and interact with pets while owners are away from home. |

John Seubert '12, Ryan Davidson '11, and Nick Bergseng '11, a team of computer engineering alumni, won first prize at the DeveloperWeek hackathon last week, for their iOS messaging app, Batsignals. |

Jocelyn Tan, electrical engineering senior, received the Outstanding Collegiate Leader Award at the recent Region A - Society of Women Engineers Conference in recognition of her outstanding contribution to SWE, the engineering community, and her campus. |
