Band saw

The band saw is used for cutting through material. In Maker Lab we have a WEN 5-Inch Metal-Cutting Benchtop Band saw.
Quick Reference
Training Required: Basic Training and Band Saw Training
Workspace: Cutting cross section dimensions- Square material: 5 x 4-7/8 inches (90 degrees), 3-1/8 x 3-15/16 inch (45 degrees); Circular material: 5 inch diameter (90 degrees), 3-1/8" diameter (45 degrees)
Materials: Aluminum, brass, copper, steel, and more
Material Fees: You can bring your own materials.
Common Terminology: Straight cut- a cut where the saw and saw blade make 90 degree angles with the workpiece and table. Miter cut- a cut where the saw is rotated to an angle other than perpendicular to the work piece.
