Epilog Laser Cutter
The Epilog Laser Cutters use a high power CO2 laser for accurately engraving and cutting various materials. In the Maker Lab we have an Epilog Zing24 60 Watt laser cutter and an Epilog Zing24 40 Watt laser cutter.
Quick Reference
Training Required: Basic Training and Laser Cutter Training
Workspace: 12" x 24"
Materials: Cardboard, cardstock, wood, acrylic, and more. (Epilog Laser CO2 laser Material List)
File Types: CorelDraw or any CorelDraw supported file type
Material Fees: We have scrap bins of acrylic, wood, and cardboard free to use. We also sell 12"x24" sheets of wood and acrylic (1/8" and 1/4"). You can also bring your own materials in to use.
Common Terminology: Raster- engraving the surface of the material; Vector cut- following a path to cut through the material

We use CorelDraw X8 in the Maker Lab. Refer to the supported file types to determine other software options that can import into CorelDraw.
Inkscape is a free open source option for creating svg files.
