Sewing and Embroidery Machines
The sewing and embroidery machines are for working with fabric. In the Maker Lab we have a Janome HD-1000 sewing machine and a Brother SE-400 embroidery machine.
Quick Reference
Training Required: Basic Training
Workspace: 4"x4" embroidery hoop for embroidery designs
Materials: Various fabrics
File Types: .pes for embroidery machine or built-in designs
Material Fees: We don't provide any fabric. You can bring in your own materials.
Common Terminology: Backstitch - reversing the stitch at the beginning and end to secure the stitches so they don't come out; Bobbin- spool or reel of thread. The stitch is formed by looping the needle thread and bobbin thread.
